About Aussie Kidz Charity
 
In early 2000, after more than ten years of supporting various well known charities and seeing the increasing percentage of donations being used to cover overheads, David Dahl and Ross Tisch decided it was time to have a charity where 100% of the donations received would be used for grants of equipment and services for our disabled and disadvantaged children. All overheads and running costs would be kept to an absolute minimum and be borne in most part by the founding Directors and surpluses from functions held.

We received Australian Taxation Office endorsement as a Deductible Gift Recipient in May 2001 which meant we could issue Tax Deductible Receipts for all donations over $2 and subsequently we received our registration as a charity from the Office of Fair Trading, which enables us to conduct appeals for support in Queensland.

Since receiving our registrations, our Board has been joined by some very experienced Directors who meet on a regular basis. We have formed committees for the various tasks which we identify within the management of the business and members and friends are encouraged to step forward and assist to whatever extent they can, in regards to our committees.

We plan to remain a small boutique charity, gaining support and donations through direct solicitation of individuals, corporates and estate trusts and through the support of varied and innovative social events run by our supporters. We know our members enjoy our socials and recommend Aussie Kidz to their friends and business associates.

We have raised significant funds and made over 150 grants to qualifying individuals including walking frames, specialised computer equipment, special clothing, medication and treatments, mobility aids and general assistance to these very special people.
